OCTOBER , 2012

Dearest Family and Friends,

Time to post some of the latest news from Cordoba on my blog. Before I know it the year 2012 will get away from me! Hope this finds each of you doing well in both body and spirit.

LST / LET'S START TALKING.  This week is my last week for classes this year. Reading will resume in March 2013. I have a special request concerning LST activities.  It would be good to find a retired married couple or a couple of retired ladies to come to Cordoba as interns this next year. If you or anyone you know might be interested, send me an email so I can put them in contact with LST Ministrys. An internship can be anywhere from 6 months to a year on the field. If no one can come this next year as interns, I will continue with small LST groups coming for 2-6 weeks to work with the readers. When teams are not here, I read with the readers on Monday and Tuesdays. Please pray for this ministry. It does open doors to share God's Word. I'd be glad to answer any questions concerning this need : jacquiemitchell@hotmail.com

Tim Archer's Visit

Sept. 29-Oct. 3, Tim was back in Cordoba. For those who might not know, Tim and his wife, Carolina, worked for many years in Cordoba. Carolina is from Cordoba. They now live in Abilene, TX.  Tim held a very successful two-day meeting for the church. Also he taught in our small groups that meet during the week. His classes could be seen live on "livestream.com".

Livestream.com is new! Hugo and Emanuel have set this up so that every Wed. evening the Bible study here at the building can be seen live in other places. Those watching can participate by "chat". Very interesting! They have had viewers from as far away as Texas, Florida, Costa Rica, Equador and Buenos Aires. Members, Julio and Blanca Ludemann, who live 3 hours South of the city, usually joined the study group via Skype. Now they participate via Livestream.com/iglesiadecristocordoba

Building News

I'd say for a few years, at least, many of us wanted to remove "the wall" in the meeting area. There was a nice, big space not used anymore on the other side. It's been removed! Adds a much needed area for growth. The kitchen wall has been redone with a window through which we can serve meals, etc. Then David, a beloved brother, also repainted the whole room. Looks really nice! Also Julio Ludemann planted two new trees out front.  Little details that lets those who walk by know something is happening in this place.

An added note. The church is enjoying an ACU student who is studying Spanish here in the University. Leslie (Lili) Frederick from Ft. Smith, AR is doing her last semester here in Cordoba. A busy girl. She heads back to the States the end of November.

A Glimpse of Life in the Campo

MONTI CAT.  I'm not too sure that I'm not one of the few ACU grads that has had the honor to have their personal "Wildcat".  In January, we had a bad storm in the campo. Something very similar to a tornado.  Next day a couple of lady guests went for a walk close to my house and came across a tiny "gato montes". Crying. Desparate for food. The rest is history..... We enjoyed Monti for almost 6 months. He was the center of our lives and activities. So sweet. So smart. More like a dog than a cat.  A blessing to get so close to something wild. He had us wrapped around his "paws".  He was killed in an accident with one of the dogs in July. Here are a FEW of our pictures of Monti. Enjoy.

BLESSINGS

Please read Hugo's reports. You can find his blog/report at www.family-fuente.blogspot.com  There's no way to express the thanks in my heart for these two who have come to work with the church in Cordoba. Blessings. Blessings having Hugo and Judit here.  And we wait in the promise of more workers to come in the near future.

Next week I travel to see Mother. My plans are to be in the States until Nov. 30. Arrive back in Cordoba Dec. 3.  thank you for your continued prayers. God bless you!  Love,  Jacquie
